Family Matters Conference Ad On Saturday, October 15, 2011, Philadelphia Family Pride will host our 2nd Annual Family Matters Conference for LGBTQ parents and prospective parents at the University Center at Widener University from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The conference cosponsors are Widener's Center for Social Work Education and the Graduate Program in Human Sexuality.

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
The conference will be held in the beautiful University Center on the main campus of Widener University, conveniently located just off I-95, Exit 6 between Philadelphia and Wilmington, DE. Directions and maps, including public transportation information. [1]

The suggested donation is $10 for PFP members and $15 for non-members. Kids and students are free. Registration will be open until Friday night. You may attend Saturday without registering, but it would help our planning if you could register in advance. Thanks!

CHILD CARE

REGISTRATION FOR THE KIDS ZONE IS NOW CLOSED.

We will have programming and child care on site for children over 3. There will be a track of workshops for the whole family for those with kids 9 and up. Though we can't provide child care for the under 3 crowd, parents are welcome to bring their infants and toddlers. There will be a baby-friendly "quiet space" for parents to relax with the littlest ones.

LUNCH

ORDERING FOR LUNCHES IS NOW CLOSED. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH. IT IS FALL BREAK, SO THERE WON'T BE ANY PLACE OPEN ON CAMPUS TO PURCHASE LUNCH.

WORKSHOPS

There are 18 workshops and panels during the day, including an Ask the Experts! Teen Panel during lunch. There are workshops geared toward prospective parents, current parents, the trans community and sessions for the whole family for parents and older kids to attend together!

There will be a special apprearance by the Philadelphia Freedom Band [5] at the end of the day!
