Family Zone at SundayOUT!

It's time for another PFP Family Zone at SundayOUT! at The Piazza [1], cosponsored by Mountain Meadow [2]. This year we're at a new location behind a section of Liberties Walk a block from The Piazza in Northern Liberties at the intersection of N. American and George Streets.

Families are encouraged to bring their kids between 12-4pm for an afternoon of crafts, face painting and fun with the Please Touch Museum play patrol. Beth Fox from Peekaboo Alley will be playing music for the kids from 3-4pm. This is a free event.

Also of interest to LGBT families during SundayOUT! at The Piazza, Equality Forum will welcome same-sex couples to reaffirm their relationships at a commitment ceremony at 2:30pm in front of the main stage in The Piazza.

There is a $10/person admission fee to enter The Piazza entertainment area, but kids 12 and under are free.

The same-sex commitment ceremony is part of Project 1138 [3] which creates awareness of the 1,138 federal marital benefits denied same-sex couples, including denying those legally married in Massachusetts, Vermont, Iowa, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut and Washington, D.C.

Clergy to perform the ceremony include Rabbi Linda Holtzman, Reverend Timothy Browning Safford and Elder Joseph Tolton.
