2012 Family Matters Conference

Philadelphia Family Pride sponsored our 3rd annual Family Matters Conference for LGBTQ parents and prospective parents on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Castle on the campus of Arcadia University.

Our annual conference aims to reach parents from different experiences including adoptive parents, single parents, prospective parents, trans-parents, partnered/married parents, grandparents, etc.

Educators were also invited for part of the day to learn how to make their schools more welcoming and inclusive for children of LGBTQ parents.

See the full schedule and workshop descriptions here.

In addition to the workshops, we had a terrific keynote speaker and very popular workshop presenter from the past, Graciela Slesaranksy-Poe, and had another panel of adult and teenage children of LGBTQ parents to answer our questions and talk about their school experiences.

We’d like to thank the following sponsors for supporting this year’s conference!

First of all, this conference wouldn’t be possible without the generous donation of space from Arcadia University and the support of the School of Education and the Graduate Program in Counseling Psychology.
