Our 2012 Board of Directors

Marc Berman, Chair

"Being a part of Philadelphia Family Pride has enriched our lives. Our children see that there are many families just like theirs, and our family has formed wonderful friendships that have helped us as parents. The support, friendship, and sharing of good times with other Lesbian and Gay parents would not be possible without the existence of PFP. I encourage everyone to be a part of this warm and caring group."

"Philadelphia Philadelphia Family Pride gives me a sense of community with other LGBTQ parents. It is a place where our son, Dylan, can meet other children from all different types of families and feel safe to be anything he wants to be as he grows up. The events are educational and social but most of all fun for our children. Going to a PFP event for me is like going home, it is safe, friendly and comfortable, a place we can all be ourselves."

"My family and I joined PFP as a way to get more involved in our community. We love that our girls get to see other families like their own with other kids who have similar experiences. We feel it's important as members of the GLBT community to get involved and show support in any way that we can. PFP provides a great space where everyone is welcomed and accepted without judgment."

"My wife and I attended our first PFP event (New Year's Brunch) when our [now 2-year-old] son was 5 weeks old. At the time, it felt almost insurmountable between our sleep deprivation, my physical recovery, and the cloud of stress that hangs over new parents, but we are so glad that we made it. Through PFP, we have found community for our family -- a place for our son to grow up surrounded by acceptance and understanding and a place for us to blossom as queer parents. We feel so lucky."

"PFP is an invaluable source of information for my family and a unique opportunity to interact with other families headed by LGBTQ parents. Our son loves making new friends and joining all the different activities. My partner and I value PFP for the way it operates on such a personal scale to build community and we love being able to get involved with such an awesome group!"

"As a mom of 3 adorable adoptive kids, a partner to my lovely wife, a clinical social worker, a professor, a student and a social justice activist, I passionately believe in the transformative power of community. PFP has been a great way for my family to experience community on multiple levels."

"My partner and I joined PFP shortly after our twin boys were born. We knew one other two mom family, but wanted to expand the opportunities for our children to meet other LGBT families. Attending PFP events hs been a great way to connect and normalize our family for them."
